Pain?
I finally got my wisdom teeth on my left side taken out today. Keeping them in for well over 7-10 years did not give me any lasting insight, just a bunch of "you should have gotten them taken out when they removed your third molars on the right side" remarks. But now, I was in pain and I could see the bottom little sucker peeking out of my gums. It acctually wasn't too bad now, but I definitely could see it get worse and more impacted - I'm glad to be blessed with a high tolerance for pain. Even the dentists and oral surgeon kept asking me are sure you don't want Nitrous Oxide [laughing gas]? But I finally gave in after the 5th person asked me. Fine, fine.
In the end, I was glad I got it. It got me so high I swear I was being played like some kind of instrument. Cheeks flapping, drills, files, suction tubes, et al. At that moment I wished I had my laptop so that I could convey what I felt more accurately. What a trip! Once again I love going to the dentist.
It was never a real problem when I was younger once I started going to Dr. Powell, a children's dentist in LA. He was awesome and had the best toys and entertainment, even when you were getting work done. They had Nickelodeon on and had toys and to look at! And when I was done, I got to take home my baby teeth in a tiny plastic treasure chest. If I could go to him now, I would. But being a grown-up or over 18, I get to take home some Vicodin in a plastic Rx bottle instead old ass teeth in a plastic treasure test. Ahhhhh, relief.

Yikes! I had all of mine extracted at the same time. I was messed up for a couple of days. Enjoy the vicodin!
This brings back memories ... I, like Rachel, also had all 4 removed; 2 were pulled and 2 were extracted if I remember correctly. The healing process was the most p-a-i-n-f-u-l! Hope you will have a quick and not-too-painful recovery, Charm! Thinking about you!
